1. What aspect of your work brings you the most fulfillment? Everyone gets to retire once in their life. Since we work with those nearing or in retirement, I get to experience retirement every day with my clients! Being able to help clients see and achieve what they have worked so hard for most of their lives is truly amazing and humbling – I definitely do not take that for granted. What’s even better is seeing that transition for my clients from saving to spending and helping them get the most of their resources which I’ve seen from extravagant travel, spoiling children & grandchildren, to heartwarming charitable giving. That’s why I got into this – no one’s situation is the same and we get to navigate that together show you the amaze things you can achieve! 2. You chose to be a fee-only financial advisor. Why was that important, and how does it benefit your clients? I believe this is the most important characteristic for not only our firm but the industry. For clients and those looking to work with us, it is transparency and knowing exactly what they are paying for our services. No hidden costs or selling products for a commission. To us, this lowers the conflicts of interest and bolsters the trust between us before you even walk through our door. 3. How do you define comprehensive financial planning, and what value does it bring to your clients? Comprehensive financial planning for me is being someone’s personal CFO. We are going to touch on and discuss everything in your life that involves a dollar sign. Everyone has their property & casualty insurance person, maybe an investment advisor, an online budget tool, their bank, maybe an accountant to do their taxes, etc., but none of those pieces work together. That’s where we come in. We take all those pieces and create the base of every financial plan. Without all those pieces, a financial plan cannot be comprehensive because they do all work together, whether people realize that or not. 4. Why do you think some people hesitate to work with a financial advisor? I can’t think of a messier industry and such a wide range of definitions to the title “financial advisor.” And, unfortunately, horror stories of those who are not fee-only, independent, fiduciary advisors happen all too often. That is also why we chose to work the way we do and change the tide on this industry’s stigma. It is a big step to work with an advisor and requires a high level of trust and professionalism. This is something we are aware of every day and do not take lightly.
