James Edward Blue
Blue Advisors
Upper Arlington, OH 43220
I'm the founder of Blue Advisors, a fee-only, fiduciary registered investment adviser based in Columbus, Ohio. Fee-only means I'm paid solely by my clients — no commissions, no product sales, no hidden incentives. As a fiduciary, I'm legally required to put your interests first, and my business is built so that what's good for you is the only thing that's good for me. Before starting Blue Advisors, I spent years inside larger institutions, including BNY Mellon Wealth Management, where I saw firsthand how often "advice" was shaped by what a firm was trying to sell. I built Blue Advisors to be the opposite: direct access to me, transparent pricing, and planning that starts with your goals rather than a product. Much of my work is with Central Ohio pre-retirees and retirees, including public employees navigating OPERS and STRS Ohio benefits. I help clients think through retirement income, Social Security claiming, Roth conversion timing, tax-efficient withdrawal sequencing, concentrated stock positions, and coordinating investments with an estate plan. I offer two ways to work together: a one-time financial plan for those who want a clear roadmap they can implement themselves, and ongoing investment management with financial planning included. If you're weighing a big decision — when to retire, how to draw down savings, whether your plan actually holds up — I'd welcome a no-pressure conversation.

Reviews are submitted by verified current or former clients, verified by email and confirmed by the advisor, and approved by the firm's compliance reviewer before publication. No reviewer was compensated. Reviews reflect individual experiences and do not guarantee future results or that any client will have a similar experience. Advisors cannot choose which verified reviews are shown.
Client names are displayed as “John S.” to protect their privacy.
Client reviews will be verified by Fiduciary Check before publication.
The advisor will be asked to confirm if the client is a current or former client (the advisor will not see your review during this step).
Client disclosure responses regarding compensation and conflicts of interest will be visible with the review.
Advisors fairly compensate Fiduciary Check for providing an objective, third‑party review platform through their monthly subscription.
Fiduciary Check does not earn based on the number of reviews an advisor receives or by the outcome of the reviews; subscription fees remain the same regardless of review volume or review content.
If an advisor chooses not to maintain their membership, reviews will no longer be publicized on their profile, as only active members are eligible to display verified client feedback.
Advisors with reviews available to the public are committed to having reviews available for at least 1 year and cannot turn off public reviews unless a full year has elapsed or they do not maintain a membership with Fiduciary Check.
Advisors may not selectively choose which reviews are published under any circumstances. Advisors must show all reviews that have been verified by Fiduciary Check, or no reviews at all.
